Introductory Studio and Art History courses.

1973 - 1976 College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA
BA in Fine Arts with emphasis in Sculpture and Ceramics. Principle instructors were Carl Rosenburg (Sculpture) and Marlene Jack (Ceramics). Ceramics courses covered hand building, wheel throwing, glaze preparation and application techniques, and various kiln-firing methods. Sculpture courses included mold making, casting (metal and plaster) and welding (acetylene and arc). Other courses of study with minor emphasis included Drawing, Painting, Lithography, and Art History.

1975 Holden School of Art, Charlottesville, VA
Pottery courses in advanced throwing, glazing, and stoneware firing techniques. Ginna Miller, instructor.

1976 THROUGH 1977 Northumberland High School, Heathsville, VA
As High School Art Instructor and Department Head, duties included curriculum development as well as teaching a full range of Fine Arts and Ceramics courses to grades 8-12. Additional courses taught in community through Continuing Education Programs.

1977 THROUGH 1982 Eastern Shore Academy of Art, Fairhope, AL
Potter-in Residence and Studio Manager. Taught hand building and throwing courses to both adults and children in this well equipped, eight wheel studio. The Academy is a privately operated, non-profit organization which offers courses in the Fine Arts. Time not teaching was spent producing pieces for shows, shops, and galleries.

1983 THROUGH 1985 Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Atlanta, GA
Participated in 18 month Pottery Assistantship Program.

1985 TO PRESENT Private Studio, Atlanta, GA
As a member of Euclid Arts Collective, I renovated, and currently maintain, a studio within the Little Five Points Community Center. Current focus is on clay with smoked terra sigillata surfaces. Pieces are sold through the studio, as well as galleries in Virginia and Georgia. I was the Co-chairperson of the 1989 Decatur Arts Festival and am currently serving as the President of the Euclid Arts Collective. I am currently represented in Atlanta by Aliya Gallery.
